Have you ever come home from work one day to find the canopy missing from your corner?  To all of a sudden come home to see the tree that has been a staple of your neighborhood gone?

Part of what defines the character of your block has been removed.

Here are some ways for you to get involved to help preserve your local mature trees.

Urban Forestry Division Services has a Tree Removal Notification System that allows you to check the status of public hearings for tree removals.  It's also a good way to inform the authorities of activity you are aware of that is not listed.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST.

As community groups increase, neighbors have quickly learned how powerful their voice is.   Organizations and groups that have formed are simply groups of residents who share an interest.   This is what makes them powerful.

Right now Los Angeles is being incredibly overdeveloped with little to no consideration as to what is already here.  This is where you come in.

Your participation is critical.

Our City Councilmembers move forward and take action every single day.  WE need to be doing the same.
